August has been a busy month, and very demanding on my knee. I'd be a liar if I said it hasn't been a problem, but nevertheless it hasn't stopped me from enjoying the summer.
My buddy Joe kicked off this month with a bachelor party in Vegas. Being a walking town, I was nervous as to how my knee would behave (because it sucks to be the guy holding everyone else back). I flew into town Friday night; the airport was swamped and the taxi line wrapped around the terminal. Having everything in my backpack, I decided to test the knee and walk to our hotel from the airport:

To answer your question, it's approximately 2.8 miles from the terminal to MGM Grand. It wasn't the fastest way to the strip, but the cool evening and beautiful sunset made for a beautiful walk. By the time I got to the casino my knee was sore, but nothing a few Jack-n-Coke's couldn't fix.
We walked a lot, which is typical of most my Vegas trips. I took my Naproxen twice a day (I'm usually only able to remember it once daily) so that helped. Pain becomes less of a priority though when you're drinking, gambling and having fun with your friends. By Sunday, I was ready to fly home and yes, I took a taxi back to the airport.
